Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking political figure commented the attack made him speechless and had to be solved rapidly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
