Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
